Enterprise file sync and share (EFSS) vendors are a dime a dozen — Gartner says that there are over 100 of them vying to win corporate business. And while many of them are successful at winning groups of users here and there, most enterprises aren’t yet centralized on a single solution. That might always be the case. In an era where IT is consumerized, end users are often reluctant to move from the solutions they’ve personally selected.
For EFSS providers this presents a challenge. Not only are they competing for customers in a market where “every cookie has been licked,” as Citrix CEO Mark Templeton might say, but also in one where no single vendor is likely to win an entire pie. Even within an individual enterprise.
